I personally don't see the connection between the MAF and the sudden diesel smell?

Unless other work was done perhaps?

Hi there. I have just been to the garage and they checked for leaks but found none. Thr mentioned
That the catilique is blocked. He suggested they cut out a portion of pipe and remove the catalique. I am not sure if this is possible?

Been doing some research on this.

They may be referring to the particulate filter.

There is a down pipe which can be put in BUT I would recommend using someone who knows what they are actually doing IMHO.

Whilst there, get the software done at the same time?

In fact, go the whole nine yards, pull the back box off and replace it with a straight pipe, pop a down pipe in and get the software done.

Sideline question:

Has there been a drop in power and an increase in diesel consumption?

Sounds like you have a diesel leak.

It could be; but i don''t see any spills on the floor when the car is parked over night!

You won't.

Check for diesel leaks while the vehicle is idling when cold, and again when hot.

Check under the car and around in the engine bay.

Possible the catalytic converter can be blocked, I would suggest removing it, and see if that makes the difference, I would highly recommend you get in touch with the gentlemen from RK Motion to and get their views on this....They are the diesel kings on these cars.

Don't come here with those tendencies.

LOL!

Sadly money is tied up at the moment but believe me, I have a list for the baby diesel monster for sure.

-Refurb of rims on all corners.
-New tekkies for all corners.
-New discs front, new pads rear, rear brake sensor.
-DP, back box delete and software.
-Replace front bumper.
-Tint windows.

And that's just the start. LOL!
