Dension gateway help

hi all. i just installed a Dension 500 gw in my
2007 e60.the problem is that the i-drive 1-6 cdc is greyed out
when the GW is active.the blue light on the GW is on which shows communication.my car has got mp3 playback from the navigation unit.

not sure what the problem can be.please help

i have searched the net but no help there

Two questions

Your CDC, was it originally working ?

Second question, did you set the dip switches on the GW500 correctly ?

I assume its the dual MOST based version ?

yes the cdc is working and the swithces are set arrcording to the manual 1+2 up the rest down.when i flic the switch down the cdc works.

yes it is the most version.

ok. i got an email from Desion support.
they advise i need to get the ipod option activated on my unit.:argh:
Can anybody help with that please

Ok that makes sense

I am going from memory here which is a lil fuzzy, but you can emulate a non text based version with just putting up switch 2 only (double check this, I am getting old)

I should be able to do the retrofit coding for you one evening, but alas my schedule is highly unpredictable.

Any dealer should be able to do it for you, or alternatively I think Hugu might be able to help.
