Decision time (end to the piggyback agony)

After about a month of research, I've narrowed it down to BMS - so it's either going to be a Stage 1 or a JB4. Need to place an order before 14:00 today so it can be delivered in time for a friend to bring it over and spare me the agony of dealing with the PoosKantoor.

Stage 1 is an easier install, easier removal. Can't delete tuner codes, should the car throw any.

JB4 is slightly more powerful, more difficult to install and posi taps into the CAN bus - I posted pics in another thread of what the wires look like, it's quite obvious if you know what to look for. Apart from being more powerful, it can also delete tuner codes and is a more advanced tune.

Which one do you guys reckon? How anal is BMW typically when it comes to checking for this?

Why you going at this process alone? Speak to the official distributors of burger products on SA who is Rennzport and get the best advice and back up service on the market...

I echo kish's sentiments... it not just about reading and deleting codes. It's about understanding the product. I know a few close friends who went with the option of direct import, and every single one says if he had to do over again, he would go with local distributor. Backup service and understanding your jb4 and it's inner working is key towards really enjoying your new power.

Also keep in mind, Rennzport does the jb4 and the racechip and provided backup service on both tunes.

I have spoken to Zaahier from Rennzport. While he was helpful, I didn't really get any info from him that I couldn't have gotten from Terry from BMS directly, or their forums, and, let's face it, the installation of these things doesn't really require much support.

The comment about deleting the tuner codes, for example, comes directly from my email exchange with Terry.

I wanted to find out if there are any experiences from people who actually used the products on the N26/N20 cars, before I bought one of the tunes.

The support is not installations immediate questions. The support we were referring to after sales service. Terry is in another continent, and sometimes it helps to have the advise or help immediately and not wait for a response email.

However the purchase is made...enjoy the product and happy boosting. Wish you well bro
