Welcome Danie

Post some pix of your ride in the showroom and introduce yourself in that way.

My question is; why do you want to decat your car?

My answer to your question is...Yes, you can decat your car...BUT there is no gains on decating your e90 320. You will only be introducing driveability problems if you decat your e90...dont do it. :nonono:

You cannot just decat a car and expect everything to be fine with the car.

The later model cars are "built" around the cats in order to adhere to emmission requirements. The e90 has a very advance ECU; If you decat your car the ECU will detect that the "balance" of the car is out of whack and will not "behave" the same as before...running too rich is a possible consequence.

so then tuning will be needed :)

Interesting Twinz. I can understand that the later model BMW's have a more advanced ECU setup around the cats - but don't these cats also need a change/ removal after your mileage gets higher?

Dread replying to these kind of threads from my past experiences on the 525i decat gone de-front-muffler mod I managed to do a while back :fencelook:

Anyway, if your ECU will need a tune and you really, really want to decat why not just go with a full system? Rob Green built my exhaust from the headers straight through to the back-boxes and the gains and sound is fantastic!

You can decat your E90 320i but software will be needed.

You looking at paying around R5000 for everything, but weight the cost vs power gained, keep as is and decat when cats are blocked.

Well,

If you remove the cats from your life completly, you become stressed....

Then while being stressed, you realize that you have no cats, and that your 320 is slow,

See one needs the relaxing nature of cats...

(Yea i know, im going to bed now)

My car was at RGM in 2007 for a stage 1 conversion, setting back R20 433. It's more than the exhaust though, got t full stainless steel from headers to back box, UniQ, 2x BMC filters and the governor removed.

Has anybody put a sportscat on there car? It keeps the emissions down, but increases airflow.

price one and tell me you still want one? cats are only efficient under certain conditions... under heavy load or wide throttle openings pretty much all it does is push up fuel consumption...
