Hi guys,

Not sure if this has ever been discussed.

What is your opinions on decating a 335?

Doesn't it sound a lot meaner, but bearable?
What gains do you get? I now a guy with a M135i who reckons he has about an star 20kw, as he put it on the Dyno before and after, & my other mate reckons he saw he figures.

Finally if it was your car would you do it?

I think you'l lose motorplan ? If you do its not worth it , and I doubt 20kw with decat. Wait for forum members to give better advice

You can not do a decat without a s/w tune. You will have an EML light on the dash. And yes, you can get more than that with a decat and s/w tune.
But you will loose your M/P.
And no, I will not do it.

Is software compulsory to the F30, or also E90 and E46 when doing the Decat?

You need a tune or that CEL delete by BMS on any car really.

I am doing DP on my 1M.

the BMS equipment:

Scientifically the thinnest part of a pipe is effectively the thickest. The exhaust impellor on your turbo is only 50mm running into the catalytic that is 85mm.Even with all the material to catch the gases you are still left with 58mm.I can see the need to remove an old cat but my testing on the road have shown no gains with cars with under 40000km on the clock.Up to 60000km figures similar and thereafter removing the cat figures of when the car was new are measured.
Remember that guys doing D/P have to do software to remove CEL with the result that you are no longer using the same BP. A standard car runs o,7bar whereas most software push up to 1,1bar. The more power is coming from the increased BP and not the DP IMO.
If you want more power you can do software and just remove before service intervals. If it's sound you want just cut out the middle cat carefully and replace with a straight pipe.

bud just do a DP and do stage 1 JB4. You would be looking at around 20wkw to 40wkw gain and close to 100nm of torque on the wheels.

If you just do DP you will only make the car sound great!

I have done the DP and rear box mod. No tune as yet. Exhaust sounds wicked even with the stock 0.6 bar boost, and 0 drone. Gear change blips are awesome. Gonna be even better at 0.9 bar.
