Decat my e36 328i?

Hey guys, ive heard a lot of good things about cutting out the catalytic converters on my car, i was just wondering if its a good idea to cut out those front silencers as well? they look like they act like some sort of x-brace.. not sure though...

what do u guys think i should do?

Decat, and run a free flow pipe with headers. The sound alone warrents the price, and the performance is vastly improved. If you are worried about bracing, get a strut brace for the front strut towers and get some eibach swaybars.

awesome! im definitly gonna decat, but the "x-brace" i was talking bout is the front silencer connecting the 2 individual pipes.. sorry im not sure wat u call it.. x-box? lol

Hmm, my 328i came with 2 cats on each pipe, then 2 middle silencers on each pipe and then a back box. Can you possibly post a picture so I can see what you are talking about?

I think the x portion is called a balancer tube

Ill try and find a pic, i just saw the 2 front silencers had a small piece connecting them, yeah i think its called a balancer tube its sort of an 'H' shape...

no just cut the cats out and put piping in, ill leave the balancer thing and the front silencers as is

hahaha yeah it was done by 5pm yesterday, the car definitely pulls stronger and i love the sound, i had 2 small freeflow boxes on at the back some time ago, was very loud but lost some performance, so now its standard box and just decat! i will take some pics and vids over the weekend
