As for the Wash Bay Carbon130i please avoid them. I personally avoid them because back in the days they also damaged my e46 at Auto Atlantic although they fixed it its just a hassel. I avoid it and put a note "Please do not wash". Im not Lazy and wash my own car

Since the first incident I told them to put a note to not wash the car which I saw the service consultant do cos I signed the papers.
The car got washed at another visit to smg, with the note mentioned, and got hit by another car door. Ended up with a white small dent. Which they got repaired at their cost

Still no apology from the man that started all this. As I said to the Service Manager it's not him that must apologise but the man that started this. It's the only way he will also learn from his mistakes. The Service manager really tried and for that I have respect for him.. But it seems to me they think he is right and I am wrong to warn people. I'll give it more time and see if they will get him to own up.

In my small family alone there are 4 BMW's and then there are friends that also have BMW's and those friends and so it goes on. I'll will continue to tell them this story of what happens to me and who ever is treated badly by them. I will not rest until he apologise.

So let's See what happens

I had excellent service from Auto Atlantic and especially workshop foreman Bashier. The software upgrade for the jerking auto box when cold and pulling away from a traffic light was fixed and he took a personal interest. Had it with Forsdicks for the same problem but they did not fix it. Today again Bashier helped me sorting out the Bluetooth. Thank you.

I always had good service at Forsdicks Tygervalley, always speak to Chester? or Geraldine.

SMG Century City is my new Favourite dealership though, very friendly and efficient service.

Auric Auto in Claremont I have my doubts about, there is a certain DP there that is as arrogant as they come.

Take it you referring to ol Teddy Govender lol

In the Cape I would advise avoiding Auric Auto in Claremont! they are a bunch of thieves and should be put out of business for their bad business ethics.

SMG on the other hand have been fantastic and I have enjoyed taking my business there even though I have to travel twice the difference it is always worth it.

SMG is the best one.

I've never heard of good things about Auric and Forsdicks.

I'll have to see about that. For now I'll keep my opinion for myself as it seems they are trying very hard to get back on the right track. :clapper:

Iceman, which is the better dealership in CT if it's not SMG?... The only other option is Auto Atlantic, which I don't rate as the best.
Paarlberg, Donfords and Helderberg is far for most of us

All dealerships are useless in my eyes.... :fencelook: and a complete rip off for having under trained part fitters working on the cars... A guy was complaining the other week that SMG wouldn't fix his rough idle on his e39 because there were no codes....

Don't get me started on SMG and the horror stories. And don't forget the horror that I had with them. Let's just see for now Otherwise we might open up a whole new can of worms.

ditto bru. Auto umhlanga needed the computer to get my m fixed. If running a diagnostic is all that's needed to get a genuine repair done, I'd rather buy the software and get it done myself. What happened to mechanics who repair cars? Now its a business of replacing every thing possible and hoping for the best

I've had a confusing experience at Auto alpina boksburg - given them a BMW diagnostic report for a parts and labour quote for an eml fault which required replacing the electronic throttle valve switch and they quote me on the engine housing complete unit which is 5 times the price of the actual repair and they won't take responsibility if the error isn't fixed

Club motors randburg Sucks.

I purchased a vehicle from them 2 months ago and I have been having endless issues with it, they move like sloths to get shit done and ontop of it I have no found out that my vehicle has had a host of spraywork throughout the body that I was not notified of.

The car was there for two weeks for a gearbox whine, they replaced the frikken power steering pump and the whine is still there. Its been there twice coz the car pulls heavily to the right and absolutely nothing. The dealer principle is just as clueless as the rest of the guys there.

These guys are a bunch of cakes.......
another bunch of liars are sitting at Northcliff Auto - they wanted me to pay for a part that they didn't have in stock so that it could be ordered from the factory in Germany, only to be delivered in 3 weeks. I was not happy, but decided to pay upfront, so I get a call the very next day after making payment that the part had arrived and I can book my car in to get it fixed... How does something from Germany arrive overnight, literally less than a day when there was no stock in the factory???

Yah well, i will never know what happened, my car was supposedly supplied with 6 brand new injectors by auric, the dealership faiz motors used reynolds autocare to fit the injectors, so i drive the car and some 8000km later all hell breaks loose,
turns out 3 of the 6 injectors were fitted without their seals, i got away with it for long as i was using all kinds of additives (liqui moly) after then 2nd tank of no additives i got issues, send the injectors away to be cleaned and refurbished (as they were obviously sooted up due to no seals) and theres still 1 injector thats ever so slightly out with the rest.. or is it 2. till this day i believe some sort of switcharoo was done.. bottomline after 10 000km, 6 "brand new" injectors should still be well within spec... thats my theory...

I have always used Paarlberg apart from 2 occasions.

Once was SMG...which ended up with me taking the vehicle to Paarlberg anyways.
And second was Helderview...not too bad and pretty efficient, but I prefer Paarlberg.

I stay in Brackenfell...it is a long haul, but worth it. Not once have I had any trouble or come backs with them.

Interesting stories!!

I have had excellent service from Cedar Isle Auto, Auto Bavaria & BMW Clearwater.

I have also received bad service from the same listed above.

Any establishment is only as good as its employees working there. Unfortunately the service received from these individuals "brand" the specific dealership by their lousy/excellent service. This works for any establishment whether it be hospitals, restaurants, schools, gyms, etc...

Being in the service industry is very tough! But also remember that there is always two sides to any story.

Just my 2cents

I'll never forget the day I also went to fit 2 tyres at SMG and that took 4hours. 1 hour for some one to help me then the car was on the lift and 2 rear wheels removed and there it sat for 2 hours. Then eventually mechanic returns and fit the 2 wheels and then he disappears again. So while watching this I waited another 30min and went to the service adviser and told him I can see my car is finished and can he please find the machine and get my car back asap. Service was real bad at some stage. So I have No idea what it is like now. Went there to the parts for tyre prices. Prices was good but then I had in my back of my head their fitment time :hammerhead:

Let's see what was your conclusion on the 2 sides.No1: Car was repaired by another dealer after them telling me its normal the problem. No2: Do you think it is allowable for the service manager to phone me after work and threatening me when I voiced my experience and what their result was.
:RedNo:
I can see you good friends with SMG and trying to defend them but remember facts are facts
:RedNo:
So don't get me started and yes I still do warn people about them, but I now do tell them that they did phone me after 2years after all the bad publicity. So there are new people working there trying to make a change so give them a try and tell me.
