Hi Guys

Since this thread is around might as well share my experience.

Purchased a Car from Cedar Isle Fourways on the 1st December 2017
and been promised to have a spare key within a week then a month then 3 days and 11 months later still no key and not a single word from the salesman

Bottom line they all smiles and happy when they want the sale but after service
sucks :thumbdo:

This spare key bs story seems to be a common issue with dealers...

I have been reading from page 9 of this thread onwards. Couldnt see anything for JSN on William Nicol Rd.

Anyone had any experience with them..??

Bought a car from JSN 3 weeks ago. Nothing but good service from the entire JSN team from sales to finance and even after sales. Would highly recommend JSN. Speak to Nivz330d on the forum for a good deal!

I agree the sales team from JSN is pretty good. My BIL purchased an M4 from them (on my referral) and Shaun helped with the procurement and installation of some M and AC Schnitzer parts. I have since also purchased some stuff from Shaun.

My experience with the service team was pure unadulterated horse excrement.

I took my car in for more oil at 10,000km (the OB computer said I was at half way). I was told that the service tech would inspect the car and everything required would be claimed from the maintenance plan. In the event that I would have to pay - JSN would contact me for authorisation.

No calls, except to say my vehicle was ready for collection. Get to the dealership and get smacked with a R2k bill - I paid thinking that JSN techs drained and replaced my oil and believed that BMW may charge a premium for oil, and that R2k may be justified.

After payment I received an invoice - they had in fact carried out a full oil service, incl. removal and replacement of the pollen filter and 2 car washes (at least that's what I was billed for). This was unnecessary for a car less than 6 months old. I got upset and advised management that this was unfair and stupid on their part. They apologised but refused to refund me.

I drove home parked my car off and went about the day as usual. When I woke the next morning - driving away from my parking spot - I noticed a few oil spots on the floor. Then I was greeted with a low/no oil warning on the idrive display.

Long story short - I drove to Northcliff BMW (after calling ahead and ensuring it was safe to do so) - they checked out the car and confirmed that there was no oil filled, which they chalked up to incorrect sump plug fitment. Although I have email proof of JSN admitting their negligence, they refuse to reimburse me or make amends for their folly. BMW SA also were not very helpful - since they are unable to recommend any course of action to franchised dealerships.

In retrospect I should've gone to the Ombudsman, but the hassle after over a month of arguments with the JSN management was, at that point, not worth it.

I know some guys get great service from JSN, this is just my story and the reason I will not soon give them any of my business.

Why would you pay anything while car is under maintenance plan? The BMW plan pays for everything, its one of the methods used to lock you into the brand. Although in CT they haven’t been paying car washes recently due to water restrictions.

You never have to pay a cent towards repairs while under plan, don’t allow a dealership to bully you in thinking that you should. You will never get your money back from them.

I will never buy from JSN or JSN Exclusive. I bought my E92 M3 Frozen and F80 M3 from Shaheed at JSN. On the f80 he made an error on the invoice and I was overcharged R5000. I didnt bother at the time as he agreed to refund me. Months passed and even though I had proof (emails, SMS, recorded phone calls) I only received 1500 back. Bmw couldn't be bothered with my complaint as the car was invoiced from JSN Exclusive which isn't a bmw franchise. Was advertised in Auto Trader by JSN bmw though.

Regardless of anything else, this is so short sighted on the part of the dealer as well as BMW... R3500 in the grand scheme of things loses you a client who bought two top-tier vehicles from you

True. I always feel that they have this "take it or leave it" attitude from most dealers. :dunnoanymore:

Howzit Guys

Bought my BMW from BMW Bloemfontein (Sovereign) in September.

After sales service is the worst. I had to chase them up for every thing and worst of all, they charged me Licensing and Reg of R5000 of which I had to do myself here in JHB, the sales guy made promises upon promises to get it done, 2 months went by and the roadworthy expired. so R5000 only for them to do change of ownership???

I'm only aware now that the "on the road" fees are not to be added to your financing and can get a refund.

Beware of these guys!

The trend has nothing to do with BMW. Most dealers charge an on the road fee between R3500 - R5000.

That they advertise as JSN BMW is very misleading - I went to see a 120D last year and it was advertised at JSN BMW. I get to the dealership and they proceed to tell me that their 'older and higher mileage cars' are down the road at 'another lot'. I get to the other lot, being JSN Exclusive, and when I ask the salesman if this is a BMW dealer, he splutters and hesitates until finally admitting that JSN Exclusive is not at all backed by or related to BMW, despite them advertising as JSN BMW on Autotrader.

Hi Guys, Hope all is well

So i want to get an opinion on (Preferred) dealerships, good and the bad before i start sending my vehicle in for anything. I currently live in the JHB north area, so the two closest dealerships are clearwater bmw and cedar isle, anyways any info on these two maybe, in terms of service..etc..
Thanks in advance

I'm not against Auric because of it's location, but I've heard some real horror stories of that dealership.

All I can say after buying my car there. stay well clear of that servive department. and also if you buy a car there do your own check and I mean go the whole 9 yards like me or you will be screwed. The Sales person really helped me to get all my demands sorted and realy all my demands I give her 10 out of 10.

Shady stories about Cedar Isle which will be shared I'm sure... especially service. Dodged a major bullet when shopping for my car at Cedar Isle as well... Clearwater doesn't care... it is actually very close to where I work and would he super convenient, but I use JSN. it would not surprise me if clearwater is the next dealer BMW asks to shut down. When they arent ignoring you, they will quickly reveal their incompetence. Auto Bavaria Midrand or JSN in bryanston are better bets IMHO
