De- cat and remap of 330d

I would like a few guy's to comment on the following.
I have a 2004 manual 330d in very good shape with 167000km on the clock. I want to de cat and remap the vehicle. The engine itself can take a lot but i am a bit worried of how much more stress will be on the turbo itself as they up the power with ease by 40kw and at least 80nm.
With more power i think you need more presure on the injectors as well.
I do not race or drag but use full power often just for the kick of it.
Any pro's and con's, please pass them over to me. I am thinking of this for some time now and Xcede in PE gave me a nice lowered quote to do the work. As far as i know and read they know theire stuff on BM's. This is my daily ride and i do not want to BREAK it. Thanks!

bud there is allot of room for safe improvement! just ask them for a mild map, instead of poring it with diesel and boost!
the torque will surely be affecting your drivetrain but power comes with discipline! if you want the power to smack it on the freeway and rolling starts it will not be an issue!

If it's a manual go for it, but the auto boxes are on the limit as is, the torque kills them. If it's an auto, just do the decat.

@ Streetracer, with a mild map..... How much harder does your turbo work? With a mild map, what sort of power can i expect!

bud! a diesel works total opposite of petrol!
Petrol when you make it leaner it gains power! a diesel the more diesel you give it the more power it will make! it will gain and gain power till it breaks! then petrol you up the boost to make more power! diesel you up the boost to make it safer to add more diesel! if you take the boost up 0.1 - 0.2 bar and adequate diesel added under full load on a dyno wilts measuring exhaust temperatures! you will have no problem! ill just ask them for a custom map and not a pre loaded one size fits all map!

do the decat without a doubt, that alone will help your turbo live longer ,less heatload on the turbo, will also help the engine rev a bit more freely, and turbo spinup a bit quicker, because of the reduced back pressure behind the turbo..

remap will put a bit more strain on everything, like streetracer says, you can just keep adding diesel till the motor bursts apart..
so egt's will be a bit higher, clutch/drivetrain will take more strain, cooling load will go a bit up ect. i mean you cannot get more power from a engine without more stress on all parts involved..

the secret with a remap is to stay inside of the safe envelope, consensus seems to be that the diesels can safely take about 20-25% increase without undue stress.. more than that and you have to start getting rid of the additional heat with bigger intercoolers ect.
