DCT service

Hi guys , just wanted to know if anyone had their DCT serviced ? , all fluids and filters changed. I know BMW says "life time fill" but I'm not a fan of that . I previously owned a 335i with the zf 8speed and had that serviced at around 100k.

Thanks

I had the oil changed at 90000km when I did clutches. They will only do it very reluctantly and tell you how guys do it and experience issues (my guess is this only happens on very worn boxes?). The normal procedure is just to top off the oil. Going to do the extended pan with SSP clutches at some point. So that is when I will change again (probably at 160000km)

It does seem like a super simple procedure and only 2 filters need to be changed (Pan and Vaccume). I just passed 70k so was looking at getting the fluid swapped out. I spoke to the dealer they very reluctant however I know there is a procedure on ista that can take them through it step by step.

I just sent someone this link the other day, the only issue with tackling this is a diy, is following the ista process of filling the last bit of oil while the car is at a particular temperature.

i had intended on ordering the filter kit from ecs tuning and using motol oil available locally but sold the car before i could attempt. if you're heavily modified, you can even do the billet sump from bms which has more oil capacity

I am on the verge of getting the kit from FCP Euro, that is the only part I am concern with. Do you think there are any good INDY shops that can do it ?

When i was doing my research, the only place that was willing to do it was Tune Tech , have you tried contacting @"Deago" at ABM/Midrand BMW for a quote?

I contacted AE Performance in Durban they are willing to perform the service and also use ista to fill up the oil, I contacted BMW Umhlanga I am still awaiting a quote, but they did mention they never done a DCT service before.

It honestly wouldnt hurt to get a "parts quote" from Deago, just to compare to FCP pricing
I think if its a competent workshop, that can correctly follow the ISTA process, then go for it, Bmw will also follow their own guidelines and processes .

I had my DCT serviced at JSN in Bryanston.
They did new Filters, Sump, and obviously fresh oil. and clutches recalibrated
Cant remember the cost, but i got a major deal and discount at the time.
