yip, same motor in some Yaris' and all the 1.3 Avanza's (and a few other models not available in SA)

this motor is the main reason Toyota bought shares in Daihatsu and its a gem for what it is

Dude when I'm nailing it on the n2 the cars they get outta my way. It goes plenty fast. I wouldn't really want to go faster. Haven't even taken my e36 to that speed. I'm a bit scared of the e36. I think I'm just cruising but when I look at the Speedo.....

The sirion is tuned down. You can easily do 130/140 at 3500/4000. Still plenty more. The previous shape made 74kw but this one only 64kw. If you want a pocket on a budget.

If you want tuning ideas then search for the 'myvi'. Think it's from the Philippines. Similar to sirion. Those dudes are crazy. There is a great forum.

ooo don't get me started on the myvi guys, i love what they do. the 1st gen myvi is a rebadged Sirion (they were also badged as a Toyota Passo and Subaru Justy) and the new myvi is just a facelift.
