Mine has never done that. Although on the US versions they have had issues with that previously. Most of them just seem to swap it out for another make of kit and sometimes that solves the problem.

whats the difference in power compared to the std mcoupe?

The standard M Coupe's have the S52 (E36 M3) engine and only the Schnitzer's had the S54 (E46 M3) engine. Kilowatt wise, the Schnitzer is only a few less than the E46 M3's output so you can basically work it out.

VPS... will keep them looking sweet. Also do a patch on the rear wheel arch just behind the door, plenty stones catch that area.

Where do you get these light kits? I am very keen now.

Mike, the SA MCOUPE prior to the S54B32 have the S50B32 motor. I know as I own one. The S52 was for the American market.

Thanks for the correction, I assumed it was the same as I got most of my info off US websites. So we got even older motors?

Older but better;) The S52 was more of a reworked 328 engine IIRC. Significantly down on power compared to the S50 that was in the E36 M3 motor and not considered a "real" M engine. All to do with emissions...

Interestingly the S54 we have was deliberatly downrated incase the Coupe stole the E46s thunder. That was achieved by playing with the exhaust. The ACS exhaust just brings it back up to standard.

Well not really older, the S52 was specific for some markets, the S50B32 is a real gem and very tough motor. The Eurospec generated 236KW but the units shipped to SA had a lowered compression ratio with a down rated output of 228kw. Check the service manual, there is a page with the local info. But a little work and you can get close to 236kw. Decat, panel filter, and run on NF 6RON mixed with 5Liter Toluene per tank and you will not believe it's the same car. I got sub 5 sec 0-100 with a stopwatch, so to be liberal it will be in the low 5 seconds. I have had some interesting drags, took on a dude from Natal in a E46M3 and boy was I surprised, as well as he.

Thanks MRV.Still need to do some work to have it as clean as possible.

I feel that black is the worst to maintain but looks like you still doing a very good job with yours though!

Was thinking of taking it to Danmar Autobody (booysens),guy there gave me an estimate to fix up abit of the bumper and respray,+- R4000.
Still deciding!

If I do find anyone else who can do it and for a better price, then I'll let you know.

Take care

Hey MRV

E-mailed pics. Will send you some more to post for me if you don't mind.

Xenon upgrade is basically like what Mike S said "Plug n Play".
What i did was get the HB4 6000k kit as the 6000k is more of a white and not blue and according to most its the brightest. Its absolutely easy to install, but the difficult part is deciding where to mount the ballast,
(preferably away from any other parts as they do tend to get hot after a while but not too hot). Finally after deciding,i took a heartbreaking decision and decided to drill through the mounting bracket and into where the front shock housing is.(Dont eactly know what its called)Made 1 tiny hole through body there where the sticker of the colour of your paint is and pop riveted the bracket on,put ballast in and it sits very flush.Did other side and viola! Xenons! What a difference!Should take you an hour or so if you go ahead with it.Highly recommend!Kit was R800.00
