Curiosity!!

Hey Guys

Just out of curiosity, I would like to know how many of the S54 ACS M coupés (35 made or 40 or 5 missing.Whichever) which were done by JSN are still around and running?Have read on the forum thats there's like 25 or so left. How many can BMWFanatics members account for of the +-25?or know of anyone else who has one! Any Info welcome!

I'm one who does,so thats +-24

Thanks Guys

They were never done by JSN. It was done by BMW themselves at Rosslyn. A total of 35 were made and at least 10 were written off in accidents.

I think we have 3 on the boards here.

I have one.

Hey Ahmed

I only saw your earlier post on teh wheel arches now. Are you talking about the plastic wheel arch liner? I have the edges chewed aswell as where the wheel hits the actual bonnet.

Hey Mike

Sorry about that statement. What i meant was sold through JSN after they were equipped with ACS.Thats actually what i read.I do stand to be corrected.

Hey Clownshoe

Exactly the same thing you talking about. Before buying mine i checked everything and asked the seller about that.He could'nt answer and thats why i seeked out all your guys expertise.Eventually i just decided to buy it even though i was'nt entirely happy with that wheel arch rubbers.Although the seller did give me a complete new one when i bought the car,i just figured that it mght just do it all the time. After that i was'nt happy with a few things on the car,so i had front right rack-end changed.Handling was abit better, but since i've had stabiliser link replaced on front right,No touching on rubber anymore. What a pleasure to drive now.Touching was only on right side.Lefts undamaged.

By the way in case your interested and have not done it.I did a HID Xenon conversion kit last night.Could'nt handle those old yellow sucky looking lights. What a difference, the view of the road, the look of the car is just enhanced even more.If you ever need help in this regard if you have'nt done it then please do not hesitate to ask.Highly recommend!

Sorry about the long stories above, just wanted to share.

Thanks guys for your replies and help.

So from what i understand so far,we can account for 3.

Hey MRV

Please help on how to post pics

Thanks

Xenon upgrade is very easy. Plug and play literally.

I did mine in 2004, BMW did not even notice :) What nice is the housing on the Z3's project the light quite well and doesn't give it that cheap aftermarket tackiness.

Hey MRV

E-mailed pics. Will send you some more to post for me if you don't mind.

Xenon upgrade is basically like what Mike S said "Plug n Play".
What i did was get the HB4 6000k kit as the 6000k is more of a white and not blue and according to most its the brightest. Its absolutely easy to install, but the difficult part is deciding where to mount the ballast,
(preferably away from any other parts as they do tend to get hot after a while but not too hot). Finally after deciding,i took a heartbreaking decision and decided to drill through the mounting bracket and into where the front shock housing is.(Dont eactly know what its called)Made 1 tiny hole through body there where the sticker of the colour of your paint is and pop riveted the bracket on,put ballast in and it sits very flush.Did other side and viola! Xenons! What a difference!Should take you an hour or so if you go ahead with it.Highly recommend!Kit was R800.00

Very nice car ahmed, what's the mileage if I may ask?

Here is a photo of mine. The ballast I got was tiny. I just used a bunch of double sided tape and stuck it on the wheel well plastic liner, on the inner side facing the engine.
No ricer blueness :)

Ditto. Where did you get them. I was under teh impression that this mod was a mission, and you ended up with blue tackiness. But those look sweet.

And i will check out my stabilizer link. I was under the impression it was just the wheel sizes were too big.

hey mike

wow,thats beautiful!That front bumper does'nt even have a scratch.Those xenons are stunning!
Previous owner of mine made friends one too many times with a few curbs.Thinking of getting the front bumper done!Whats your advice?

Bought her with 95540kms,drove her from Klerksdorp and drive her once in a while,Shes now on 97981kms.Would of loved it with lower mileage, but its just so damn hard to find them and so few.Only got it since June as it took quite a while to get the cash(since 99).The upside though was my wife paid half as a fathers day gift.

If you don't mind me asking whats your mileage? As yours looks brand new!

Take care

By the way gonna get some decent pics on when i get a chance.

Hey Guys

Mrv you did say that you were in Woodmead?I'm In Lenasia.
That is beautiful too,Like the handles, and she is also damn fine!

XENON KIT
Got them from a store in Lenz," I S Motorsport".
Will post some proper pics with them switched on and exactly where i mounted ballasts.Although today when i showed someone how they looked,I switched them on and after about 5 seconds front right went off, switched off and on again and they stayed on!Drove around and they were fine.Called owner of store where i bought them and he said that he would give replacement ballasts to see if that sorts it out.Gonna see later if i get a chance, but so far its done it only once.

If you guys still interested let me know as i don't mind getting them for you and delivering them.

Mike S

Did you ever have anything like that happen with your xenons?

Clownshoe

Hey man

Just get them to check out the stabilizer link,I'm hoping that should solve it.

Good Luck!

One day when we all free and if we all in Gauteng,we should meet up(just an idea)

So Mike S,MRV,ClownShoe and myself, thats 4 that we can account for,Now to find the other +-21!

Hey MRV

Just wanted to say thanks for posting the other pic,Really appreciate it.

Take it to a good spray shop and you will be fine. Respraying the bumper is nothing really big.

Mine just clocked to 26000km the other night.

I took out my headlights to do the installation and mounted my ballasts beneath the headlights on the inside of the wheel liner in the engine bay. Plenty of room and you can't see it at all.

Your car is in good nick for the mileage, nice buy!

Hey Mike S

Thanks for the advice regarding the bumper and the comment about the car being in good nick, really appreciate it.

I figured your milleage would of been somewhere around there as i seen that earlier post of yours back in Jan 2010 with it on +-25000kms!Your car is absolutely immaculate and oh the mileage is even sweeter.

If only i'd got advice from you earlier regarding where i could of mounted the ballasts!Anyway still happy with how it came out.

Mike just a quick question,Whenever i switch my headlights on now, either the right or left goes off, then i switch off again and then on,then they stay on and are fine.Have you experienced this or any idea why this could be happening.Your help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Take care and keep doing what you doing to keep that car as fine as it is.
