I love the story that led up to you buying this beast. I remember the first time i had a drive in one of these i was in primary school and my uncle picked up. Ill never forget how it pinned me into my seat. I couldnt lean forward at all cause of the power and then ofcourse it sounded like a mother fricken dragon was in the car with me:smilebounce:

Wish you have many happy miles with it. What a car :praise:

Very nice.

There is just something about how AMG goes about things that make them special.

Its a completely different car compared to any M, and its absolutely wonderful in its own right.

If the Airmatic suspension goes, just chuck it, and fit BC coilovers. I recently had a spin in a car with these items fitted, and it drives really well for less than 1/4 of the price for replacement OEM struts

Thanks for the kind words, the way it all happened was just amazing.. like pieces of a puzzle simply falling into place... By far my best buying experience.

Epic epic cars! Congrats!

P.S. Airmatic can be expensive to fix if it goes wrong. Worth keeping an eye on :)

I'm aware of the expensive airmatic suspension and if it does give trouble i'll be sorting it out and not replacing it with coilovers due to the fact the car is so clean, I would like to keep it in this condition and i will be the only one working on it to ensure it stays perfect and complete with every nut and bolt in place.

ps. They meant for open road blasting.. make sure you get enough of that done!

Thanks Bud, Yeah i make the odd 1am trip every now and then to go enjoy the cars on a quiet road... Looking for taking this one out...

Congrats. You should do the headers on it. Sounds like a beast. :cartel:

Its already got Headsers and Full exhaust..

Just cruising around you can hardly hear the V8 exhaust tone but its there just very faint as you cruise between 1000-2000 rpm , but if you floor it, the Sound it makes is insane, super loud. Really takes other road users by surprise when they see this merc was cruising along silent and then "RAWR" its possessed and ready to tear it up...

I also like giving it a small rev to set off the other car alarms in the basement at work. hehe..

Thanks Mo, Two very different animals...
In a straight line 0 - 250km/h:
> I think the Z4M is going to be ahead on launch to around 160 then the merc is going to pass and open big.
> Z4 can take any bend at higher speeds than the merc... no contest if theres corners.

I will see if my brother and I can go out and make a video one of the days..

Thanks Chris,

Because the mileage is still decent and the car is in tip top shape, I'll keep the Airmatic...

The supercharger pulley and S600 throttle body is a good mod, together with SW, they make around 350 to 360wkw and around 850 to 900nm. :cartel:

So i've had this car for a few weeks now and I started out by resetting the ECU to allow for it to learn my driving style and since i only get to drive the beast now and then, the preferred driving style is "MAD MAN"

Needless to say, the E55 does feel alot faster after the reset.. So much so, it makes the Z4M feel slow...

another free mod was to change the Command Logo on startup from the Merc Arrow to the AMG logo...

After

Then i went on a break for easter and when i returned the Merc battery was low, So i took out the Big Charger and put it on charge...

While that as happening, i decided to check the AUX Battery in the engine bay, This little unit is the Backup Battery that runs some of the cars main electronics.. Its located under the Cabin Filter in the engine bay...

Removed it and put it on the small Charger while the Big charger was on the car...

Once the Batteries where charged, I took it for a drive and was super happy to hear the rumble of the V8 again...

I have a customers car on the Lift at the moment but as soon as its out, i will put the Merc up and service it...
