Creaking sound when turning

Hello guys!

I get this creaking/clunking noise on my e46 when I turn sometimes. It is definitely coming from the front wheels and happens more on the left side when I turn left. Does this sound like it could be the control arm/s? (handling seems fine)

power steering pump?

why dont you just check the bushes? wiggle the wheel, if it moves the bushes are probably shot.

it could possibly be the steering spindle. Its like a flange connecting the steering column to the steering rack. I had the sames symptoms and my control arms and bushings were still new after i had changed them. It turned out to be that spindle and it also wears down after time, causing a play on that joint when you turn, hence the cluck/tick noise or creeking. Part cost me R1500, not that hard to change, but a mechanic did it for me.

I am also getting a creaking noise from the front..

Have had new shocks, New control arm Bushes, New sway bar stabalisers fitted and the noise is still there..

BUT

not all the time

Mostly after driving the car a bit, so when its hot...

What I must do is drive it to the mechanic when its making the noise for him to hear as when he had it last time, he obviously did not hear the noise..
