Ok guys, just been hit with the worst news of my life. Insurance will not pay out on the car. Story too long!!

Just got the quote for the car, bearing in mind that no structural damage was found.

R92,000. After looking at the quote it is evident that i am being taken for a ride. BIG TIME.

Does G&C do repair work?

Actually ja....

Unless they can prove that you were drunk, or your policy lapsed.... I would dig to hear this excuse....

Most accidents are caused by driver error, so whats their reason for not paying out...

That is shocking!!! Sorry, I only looked into this thread now again...

Please PM me, maybe I can help with something.... You seriously need to mention the name of the insurance so everybody knows.

I could also get hold of a very, very good and trustworthy Panelbeater here in Paarl... still some of the oldschool guys who proud in their work.

I feel your pain having done pretty much the same thing to my 1998 E36 M3 (3.2l - 4 Door).

Hey if anyone here knows where I can get my hands on a Right Side shaft outer CV for my car, I'd be reeeaaallly stoked!!
Its the only thing holding up the completion of the loooong drawn out fix...

Thanks,

dammm dude sorry to see this...even more sorry about insurance.:bawling:

GUYS Take note "INSURANCE ASSESSORS NOW RUN A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE ELECTRONICS" via what ever make of car, in your case they would have piked up that the traction control was off, please guys if you are playing around be aware of this, they have history now with all these fancy electronics.

I had an incident with my 330d on our fine roads and they wanted to know why I was 15kms over the speed limit - I was like WTF, I went into BMW where they where repairing the car and they showed me the report, time and dated, and what things "Controls" where on at the time.

We all like to have a bit of fun but they screw us over.

It still sucks hairy balls that the insurance is not paying out - granted you were fooling around when this happened, but it still falls under the category of "it was an accident". In light of them not paying out, are they going to "refund" you for the premiums paid up till now? Also sorry I missed this thread when it was originally posted, and really sorry about your car - hope that it can get sorted out somehow!

damage doesnt look so bad, rather do it yourself, will be much cheaper. Also, while fixing her up, contact the ombudsmans office and take your insurers to task! BTW who are you insurers?

does the e46 have this if they did not even bother putting a date on the error codes?
