the guy is ripping you off. for that price you can get a 2nd hand head thats in good condition, fit it on and have cash to spare! if its a slight crack, repair it, but if its a bit more serious, rather get a new one. thats what i did, cause if its not welded properly, itl just get stuffed again.

You can also try JR cylinder head services.
Tel : 011 885 3506 Speak to Wayne. They could possibly also help you source a second hand one or repair yours.

for R11k you can make that a machine!! contact my man GIZMO he will be able to hook you up with a head!!! then you can send it my way if you want some proper port and pollishing!!! i would rather spent the cams money on your diff!!!
Money vs gains diff will make the biggest difference!
Maybe 3angle your valves seats and up the compression! while head is off ballance bottom end and bull nose your crank!

you will need one of those Midas Boot spoilers to keep it on the road LOL:slap:

Actually street.

I have some noisy lifters in my E34, and considering having both heads rebuilt with a port and polish.. how much am I looking at just as an indication, that mod is still a long way off.

Ok, ok, ok. Everbody is getting carried away here. If you got quoted R50 000, but can fix the head for a grand, it does not mean that you HAVE to go spend the remaining R49k 'that you WOULD have paid'...

good luck on saving a buck, but save the rest if you can.

@streetracer...already bought the 3.64 diff, from gizmo..loving the rainy days...as for the porting, i'll keep in mind...not looking to spend the all the cash, just taking advantage of the situation, as i seriously don't wanna have my car back in the garage..
