Guys,

A friend of mine has a CSL that he is thinking of selling, because they are so rare, he has no idea what price to ask. Car is in good condition with 74000km on clock.

Any ideas?

Anthony

** EDIT **

Ok I was obviously fishing to buy one, not to sell one

IS R325k a fair price?

Unfortunatly they are not as rare as one thinks. At any one time I have found 2-3 available.

They all state excellent condition, but most have been pulled through some ones ass.

I rate you could start the bidding at just over R400k ... maybe R420k ?

Howsit,

If you are talking about the black CSL, it has been listed at R325 000.00 on the Gum.
I have seen this car and its in pristine condition. The only money to spend was on two rear tyres.
I was really keen to buy it, however, the insurance would have killed me!
I was quoted anywhere between R2850.00 to R3200.00 for insurance alone!
My personal opinion, its a pearler, buy it if money is no object.

Hi there,

The owner was initially trading the CSL in for an AMG and I got to see the car during the evaluation. He wasn't impressed with the Trade in figure and decided to sell it out of hand. The car is comment free and has an extended Warranty on it...it's a real beaut. Would have bought it myself but the insurance is ridiculous on the CSL!

Well I am 28 with a flawless accident record and I pay R701/month for comprehensive cover on my CSL, so you people must have done something seriously wrong to deserve such rediculous premiums

What FordKoppie said. I only pay R500 on my M3. Sure its not a CSL, but still.

I was 28 when I bought the M3 and was quoted that price.

Why so much?

I'm 24 and pay only R900 on my 135i.
And Chris. It's a CSL. It was like R7000k new? Or was it R900k? It's was a lot of k! K? K!

in terms of running costs i dont see it as being much more than a normal M3... should retain enough Value to offset the extra running costs at least...

I have never claimed from my insurance and was quoted those ridiculous premiums. I'm 34 and have had my licence for the last 15 years and have never been in an accident. I dont know what they are smoking!
My cars are locked up in a garage with secured fencing and access control! Its time for me to look at my insurance policies a little more closely.
Any suggestions with regards to Insurers? Im currently with Hollard and Outsurance?

hollard once quoted me R4500 on a 1100 uno:roflol: and also quoted me double that on my bmw, outsurance have never been able to qoute me below R1000 on any of my cars that i have owned

had my licence for 21 years,only 2 accidents and 1 hi-jacking,went on a group scheme,my car,wifes navara and house and contents,just over R3000 p/m

best to shop around:thumbs:

And I pay even less for the insurance on my 1M. :nono:

And I'd say it's worth anything between R340 000 and R399 000. :fencelook: Depending on condition an if everything is still 100% original.

Almost R1 mil new depending on options like A/C and radio etc.
