Morning ppz,

I have noticed recently that my consumption doesn't fluctuate as it used to between driving styles and short long distance, I'm on a constant 14.3, Not sure if it has really affected the actual consumption at all, Just the display has not moved from 14.3 for a few months?

Any Suggestions?

on my E46 : engine on, push the "BC" button with an arrow bordering found on the indicator stalk(lever), until the fuel consumption is on display. Now push and hold the "BC" button, it will instantly reset to 0,00L/km and from there it starts to count up or down the consumption as you drive.

Does the O2 Sensor read the fuel to air ratio? I wondering if its not a faulty O2?

Cool will give it a try.

Hi,

you must remember that the fuel consumption is the average since you last reset it. The greater the distance you drive between resets the less likely it is to fluctuate radically.

Thanks J, from research it should be doing a measurement every 18kms traveled, Previously if I drove it hard it would go up and if I was economical .."yeah right ;)" it would be lower...Same as for Long distance or sitting in traffic, So I'm assuming some sensor is not functioning, No warning lights though .
