I don't want to hijack the thread, but I'm also looking at a 320d for my daughter. Is R140k about right for a 2005 E90 320d with 90000km or should I haggle?

It's about right... and if the car is OK and you and your daughter are happy then take it!

No hustling, I just need a dependable, economical car for my daughter. I'm not selling any of my cars at this stage.:fencelook:

With a budget like that why not consider a 330d? you should be able to get into a 2008 model if I'm not mistaken unless you're specifically looking at later models:fencelook:

320 D is an awesome all rounder.
I have a 07 320d with HIGH mileage but fuel
with hard driving I see 900km easily.

LFC has budgeted R250k.

For that price he can easily get a LCI 320D with motorplan, in sportpack trim(if you like that trim) for that matter.

He could also get himself a 330D which will destroy all memories of the GTi yet still deliver 700 - 750km on a combined cycle.

If it were my money, I would go 330d. The 330d offers enormous power and excellent economy. Seeing as LFC does not wish to mod, I believe that the 330d will deliver all the power he could need. And if he does wish to mod, he will have enough power to tow tablemountain to jozi.

@LFC, do get the 320d and you will have a permanent grin:inlove::thumbs:

I purcahsed a 2004 320d e46, and I smile every time I look at or see it. Its the previous shape but I love it.

Its a go-ahead from me.:joy:

Now that is exactly my recommendation... I saw a 330d, 2010, 80000kms, white, sport pack, sunroof etc etc for R279 000... so you essentially have 20000kms to deal with a dealership and learn to drive it hard, and spend money in drips and drabs to unleash some real ploughing power!!

Out of MP servicing is not actually that bad, get Ross Duncan to care for it, and you'll never be unhappy... nor look at another VW the same way :flyfun:

i bought my 320d Mpack black with beige interior
car was registered this year 2012 model with like 10 000km on and she
puts a smile everytime i drive her.

Thanks for all the replies guys

Spec wise would definitely be looking at a Sportpack, Auto, either white or grey, 18's, xenons/roof would be cool. Would sacrifice the 18's for some comfort, not sure if thats an issue?

So either low mileage 320d vs higher mileage 330d.

Tbh I don't really drive fast so leaning toward the 320d :sorry:

Quite a contrasting jump there, you sure you not hustling us?
I think I need to grow up lol, leave the 'boy racer' scene and be a bit more responsible. Plus i'll be be saving quite a bit on repayments which I can put into my bond :joy:

Better mileage is also a plus
