Common faults on a 2010 120d hatch

Hi Guys,

Please can somebody advise me on the common faults found on a 2010 120d.

I want to know more about the turbo failure and at roughly what mileage can this be expected etc.

What type of m/p or warranty should be taken out if necessary?

The 2010 models with second generation common rail turbo are amazingly well built.

Look for low milage and it should have MP left to carry you through two years at least, to get to know the car. :thumbs:

:nonono: why is the turbo expected to fail all the time, there is too much hearsay on subjects like that.
It will go when its time to pass

I'm on 122000kms and not a single problem with my turbo, had the car since new and look after it... the only problem I have had was when I purchased the car it came with a squeak... which resulted in the crank pulley... other than that, you should expect your common running parts (as with all) to give way at some point... pulleys, v-belts, tensioners etc other than that, loving mine

I am now on my 3rd 120d, 150k km or so between them.

This is the first F/L one I own. None of them have had any extra work done apart from normal service items and brake pads. Manual and auto gearboxes both.
