Color of E30 undercarriage , What did I do??

So I sprayed the undercarriage of my E30 today for probably the first time in 28 years and im a little confused , What color is it supposed to be ?

With some of the dirt , oil grease and mess removed
Most of the body pieces , (not suspension , tank etc) seems to have turned cream in color ? Is this the true factory undercarriage color? This car has never had its undercarriage sprayed or worked on . Could I have stripped paint of with a lowly Karcher ??

Anyone have any pictures of an Original E30 undercarriage? And is the fuel tank supposed to be a black and kind of glossy / shiny ( thats also original ) It had always looked matt in color to me .

It is normally a creamy beige colour.
Petrol tanks are gloss black

what color is the body of your car (Original).
Those cars where dipped if my memory serves me well but only the upper body was polished.

Thanks guys! The color of the car is Dolphin Grey metallic , Still the original color and paint .
Thanks peter , The color is actually a creamy beige colour once the dirt is cleaned off .
I was a little worried that I may have stripped out some paint . All seems well .
