COBB on x35

The Cob is a flash tune and comes preloaded with specific maps fot the X35 or you can request a special protuning map if you have the mods to support it. The car gets flashed through the OBD port using an access port or AP in short. Its quite pricy in the light of the fact that there is no tuning support for it in SA.

There is an official Cobb distributer in SA which you can contact. Or you can also contact Rennzport. We deal/sell the Cobb access port but we dont necessarily provide Cobb tuning support. Flash tuning/mapping is not an interest for us although we understand how the tuning part works.

I agree with Shaun. Decide which tuning route you want to go such as Xcede or piggyback Jb4 and you will have all the support you need right here on the forum.

Howsit Bilal! When deciding, all I can say is the support is just as important as the tune that you decide to go with and Rennzport has been excellent in that regard for me.At times, they have gone beyond the call of duty to assist me!

I have buddies that run xcede and they have only good things to say about them as well.Infact fitted my dp's with Alistair and he was very helpful.

Burgy is also another option and he is always gladly willing to assist.Anyways my point is support is very important. It's not as simple as loading a file/plugging in a piggy and that's that.So whatever you decide, stick with the tried and trusted!

I have the JB4 installed only in my car and I have removed it and sent the car twice already to bmw. Once for a service and once for brakes and tail light bulb replacements. Didn't have any MP issues both times.

I have never had the car dyno'd so I don't know how much more power its making. What I do know is that without the JB it feels kak slow!! :thumbdo:

With the JB on Map 5 and with 95 oct Shell fuel I see 15-16 PSI on the boost gauge consistently. I agree with Outlaw and the likes, go with a tried and tested tune, you will have alot of support from the sponsors selling that particular tune and you will have a host of other people on this forum running the tune to hep out.:thumbs:

Now stop moaning and just Tune it already!!!:joy:

I have Cobb on my Nissan. Works very well. I know the only guy is Craig from nxgen. He is the ONLY authorized dealers i know of, as I wanted to get direct from USA, and was referred to Craig.

Yes, the JB will just piggyback on the Powerpack...infact the JB treats the powerpack as an OEM stock flash tune. When you datalog your car after the JB is installed on your car you would be able to see how the power pack targets boost and the JB4...That is if you going for the off the shelf integrated JB4...When you go for the big daddy...the JB4 with isolated boost control its a whole different fun ball game

My suggestion is enjoy your car for now and perhaps consider an alternative tune much later like at 30 or 50 000 Ks or post MP. But if you have other goals like drag racing or tracking then I personally would not be able to wait :=):

Sounds a whole lot of fun.what is the difference with the jb4 with isolated boost control? Does the g5 board upgrade only for bigger turbos?

Goals are most def drag racing and track lol

The G4 board are slowly being outphased. If you order the G5 now you have to stand in a line due to the demand. The G5 is the way to go, irrespective of your mods whether you run bigger turbos or nitrous....The G5 compared to the G4 provides the best platform for your planned goals.
