Good morning gents,

Where would be the best place to go to for the above clutch kit and who would most likely be the cheapest.

is R850 an ok price to pay for replacing the clutch?

This is for E46 318i 2004

Thanks:=):

Sorry forgot to put in that i am based in Cape Town:flyfun:

Damn 850!

I think I should get a 318... I'm dreading the day my 530d needs a new clutch. Thankfully the clutch is still 100% :grin:

It is cheap... What brand is the clutch kit however... Dont go for the cheapest thing out there either as you're going to just end up replacing it so much sooner than if it was a quality component :thumbs:

My buddy works for a reputable engine spares outlet. Had him call around for a clutch kit for my 325 E36. A LuK agent advised him to get a sachs instead. Cliftons m3 centre in maitland also advise sachs. 850???? U sure that not only the release bearing lol. Clutch kit for my car is atleast R2000

*I love my E36!*

From the OP's post it sounds more like he is asking if R850 is a fair labour charge. Thats how I understand the post. Clutch kits do go for R2000+.

Yes R850 in labour is fair. 3 hours @ R300 an hour

no no you misunderstanding bud the R850 is the labour charge from the mechanic to replace the clutch, there is no supply of a clutch kit for that price - hehehe how I wish

If that were the case i wouldnt even bother posting as i know its a steal

Spot on Chris, hehehe seems the oaks are still asleep.

So now that we established that 850 is a fair price for labor only now moving on to the cost of the clutch kit

My bud got a quote from a local spare shop in our area for R2065 im assuming this is a good price as well?
