Yes. You can get it from rennzport.

But we have a better alternative to the CDV. You can PM me and then we can hook up over the weekend.

"E46 320i, 325i, 330i 1999-06"

Does this mean my 1999 e46 328i does not have one?

Nevermind, found this.

"For the M3, I recommend removing and discarding the CDV. For the E46 3-Series, there is some concern about warranty, since it is supposed to be there on the 320i, 325i, 325xi, 330i, and 330xi models (but not the 328i)."

Still feel a massive delay from the clutch. Should probably still have a look

No related - this slows/controls the clutch action irrespective of your clutch inputs so that there is no sudden clutch action that could cause severe drivetrain shock and damage. Problem is, is makes the clutch often feel quite numb so you can still end up with a shunt through the drivetrain from not being able to "feel" as much. Also, the CDV is only used on non IIIM manuals - cars with SMG (manual) gearboxes don't have this since they are computer controlled. They should actually have this, most of the SMG gearbox cars that I have driven in have such harsh gear changes!

Hey Philip, thanks. I know what the CDV does.

Was hoping for a way to get the auto box to respond quicker

While most people say that it makes changing gears significantly better, they also warn against premature flywheel damage (might depend on driving style too :dunno: ). I have no idea how true this is thought. Removing the CDV should also get rid of the "chunky" gear change, specifically in 1st and 2nd gear.

Still have the CDV on my car and have gotten used to it over the past two years, but might still do this mod even if just to see for myself how it compares - this mod is reversible if using a replacement modified CDV in the case of the E90. Could even simply bypass (delete) the CDV altogether.

Yea, I still want to give this a go and see how the car behaves. All of the reviews that I have seen are positive.

Im definitely removing this at my next service. Clutch delay with self adjusting clutch just makes for kak changes. The e36 shifts much nicer without it.

Basically, I have to pay a lot more attention when changing gears with the 330i's CDV clutch compared to my diesel bakkie - able to change gears very fast and precisely (need to since HMS Isuzu is not the fastest tool in the garage)!

Do you struggle to get the car into second gear immediately after pushing in the clutch pedal? I mention second because it's either first or second that people see the difference after a CDV delete.

Also, an educational video for the masses who don't feel like reading.

When cold particularly notchy, but once warm don't really battle to get into the lower gears as such, maybe just doesn't like especially quick changes. What I do sometimes have is it won't go into first gear on the first attempt - neutral clutch out, and then try again and it works. The problem is more to do with the actual feel of the clutch and its response.
