all three our catalogues have nothing for the "M-Sport" , 540i or M5 listed, but rather have a symbol referring to the manufacturer, or to an import required.
Phoning 2 of the big suppliers also has the same result...( I can only imagine the quizzical look on the other side of the phone)
now the question that "niggles" me....is Chef's 530d just a standard E39 530d with M-Sport trim, or is it a also a true M-Sport including M-Sport suspension

It has msport suspension. With my normal 530d parked next to it you can see how much lower his is.

I'm due for shocks in about 8-10k I think.
Having heard only good stuff from DieselF and now Chef, I too, will order Koni str.ts from Moranor (pm when they are due bud).
Do I need to change the springs too? A bit lower maybe?

Hey 3 speed. Your springs should be ok. But if you want the car a little lower then you may as well change them out.
Bushes I got powerflex from moranor. Again it all depends what you want. If you want to keep a close to stock feel then just get meyle hd. If you want things a bit stiffer than go with powerflex.
You can get meyle from either moranor or imcomex.
