You can get great results with a wrap.

My kidneys and steering wheel is wrapped. Looks great.

Post some close up pics especially of the corners of the wrapped objects please :ty:

So...

Since I bought my car, the interior motion sensors never set the alarm off when activated. I tried many ways to get the alarm to trigger from inside the car, but nothing worked.

This evening I gave the inside of my car a good clean and treated the leather a little bit. Whilst busy in the back, I noticed the cover for the motion sensors (which are situated in the middle, on the roof, between the front seats) was loose. I pulled it off and found the connector unplugged. Previous owner must have done this for some reason.

I plugged it back in and fitted the cover back. Now I need to test but I won't do so tonight lol. It'll be a bit loud.

Just want to post an experience I had on my trip down to Port Shepstone this last weekend.

I had the car on cruise control doing 110kph and I noticed it started slowing down on an uphill. I immediately started stressing that the turbo was going. I phoned my uncle who was convoying behind me to check for smoke but he only saw what he said to be standard diesel smoke upon acceleration.

I pulled in to a garage in Mooi River and listened to the engine sound and checked for smoke upon revving. I immediately remembered that I had this problem before.

Vacuum leak.

To confirm, when pulling out of the garage and onto the main road, I accelerated in manual mode up to 2500rpm with not much power, and as soon as it passed 2500rpm the car shot forward like a rocket with clouds of black smoke billowing out behind me.

So this weekend it looks like I'll be stripping off the intake manifold to look for a possible lost vacuum line plug, or something along those lines.

Also, re the "gearbox" problem... It's not a gearbox problem :=):

after the experience I had with my 330d and its pos gearbox that broke not far from portshepstone I wouldn't put it past the car that it is in fact the gearbox, that sounds exactly like the issues I had just before my gearbox broke, I was in cruize control and noticed slight slowing downs here and there on the drive to South Coast, I thought my cruize control was just acting strange, as just like you when I put in manual mode and pulled it shot forward.

Just out of curiosity how can you be so sure that its not the gearbox? there really isn't any way to tell unless you strip the thing.

Because I had this exact issue before and have done the repairs myself with the help of other fanatics.

Oh and my car turned 260k this weekend :joy:

Was just about to ask what your mileage is.

Have there been any transmission repairs throughout its lifetime? I always worry my gearbox is going to go kaput.

Your E39 is still looking clean.
