Velcro plates...so last season! Rare earth magnets is the best. A couple on the plate and a couple on the inside of the bumper cover to attract the plate. Cops will give you a lot of grief if they see velcro on you bumper.

It can't be seen, nor can the plate be taken off very easily

Here is your next diy, get hold of a bunch of old hard drives, the older the better. They have large rare earth magnets (neodymium magnets) and are really powerful. Strip the old hard drives for these magnets and work out exactly where you want to place the magnets and stick them to the plate first using pratley quickset steel. Use the remaining magnets on the other side of the plate to attract the ones you are glueing to ensure a good bond. Once that has cured the remaining magnets can be glued to the inside of the bumper cover, thats between the bumper cover and the stiffener with a centre mount plate. I used pratley quickset plastic to stick the magnets to the cover, they are thin and fit snug once the stiffener is back in place. Have the plate in the correct place when you glue the magnets to the cover to ensure a good bond and correct orientation of each magnet.

If you can't get old hard drives then you can buy flat/thin neodymium magnets from magnet companies around SA.

These plates will stick to the boot lid too no problem.

A very clever mod, though. But I don't mind the velcro.

Anyways, my next mod will be removing the sunroof glass to get to the broken railings to replace them so that I can finally tilt the sunroof up.

This was Gordon's idea :fencelook:
