sounds like your tensioner pulley or main belt. My car did that when cold a few mornings. Got the main belt replaced and problem was gone.

So the whine is getting worse :argh:
A couple of people who have heard it say that it doesn't sound mechanical, but more like an air problem. Did someone say turbo? :fencelook:

I have heard noises that involve the tensioner pulley and noises involving the alternator.

This sound is nothing like it :fencelook:

Turbo exchange in JHB quoted R8500 for a new turbo (GT25) with manifold.

It seems there's a bit of a boost problem (I think) as the car will accelerate and suddenly accelerate a bit harder without me putting my foot down. But overall the performance is still very good :dunno:

I think you mean the viscous coupling on the fan. Chef, you will only have this if your car has an autotragic 'box.
