Check EML light....

When i turn the ignition on, the usual lights come on, oil, battery, etc. EML always came on but when i switch the motor on it disappears. mechanic said nothing to worry about, for the past year? Is he right?

My moms also does it.. Just as long as it goes off after you start then its fine

Yeah I am also under the impression that the EML light should go on and then turn off again after the car is started.

my eml light stayed on even after start up and tune tech said it was the valvetronic motor was faulty and they changed so as long as the eml light goes off after start up, it should be ok.

With my moms car, the light came on when ignition was turned on, & there was a high pitched sound from somewhere in the engine bay. So I took it in to BMW & told them & they replaced the valvetronic motor.. and its still doing it, so guess its meant to be there but it goes off after startup
