Hi Guys!

After a couple of calls to some spares shops, I managed to get a CD shuttle for my E46!
And it's in pretty good nick!

I have music again :joy:

Glad to be back in Pta & the land of the living!

Thanks for the help and advice :praise:

These things seem to be getting rare

Dealer prices?
That's because they crap and don't last.

Even the one in my low mileage touring stopped working, so i ripped it out. I use the mp3 enabled cd front loader instead.

The E39 was never MP3 enabled and so I rely on my shuttle. Still going strong :fencelook:

I still want the widescreen head unit installed, though.

Scary fact. When I got my E39 I never got a shuttle magazine as you well know. When I went to SMG they mistakenly quoted me on the whole shuttle...

They don't make them anymore, at the time 2 in the country at a little under R7k

You can get an iPod retrofit kit from the agents that uses the shuttle input and allows you to control the iPod from the head unit. Not sure if it's still available, but it was selling for around R2k. I have one in my car and it's awesome:=):

Been looking at it, you need to have a certain type of radio AFAIK

Not sure about that. Mine came with the car when I bought it. Was fitted by the previous owner. But the head unit is the normal bmw business unit with front loader.

Ridiculous.

They don't make anything for the E39 anymore. Not even carpets. :nonono:

I think your original BMW business loader needs to have the front CD loader for that. The E39 only has the tapedeck up front.

Time to permanently borrow some Queen tapes from dad :roflol:

Speak to Mo@AutoX on the forum for the rubber mats, I got a couple of sets from him and it works perfectly on the E39

I don't want the rubber ones. I wear shorts with plakkies a lot and drive barefoot a lot so I like the feel of the carpet.

I saw a set of carpets that had extra padding under the heel of the driver (for auto model). Would love that... Can't remember where now.

Why don't you just have a set made?

Well if that's the case maybe it's good you didn't use them...? Nikhil seems to always recommend someone thay side of the world. Ask him.
