Carly for BMW

Hi All. Do any of you use Carly to code on your BMW? Have you had any issues/damage to modules on your car after using it?

Also, can I use my normal OBD dongle, I think it's an ELM327, to interface with the Carly app or must I buy the specific Carly dongle?

Thanks all.

Have used it a few times on different cars without having any issues.
As far as i know only the Carly dongle works with the app, the others do not work.
However with that being said you can use a D/K can cable with the application as that works also

Thanks Danny. And can I do coding with the free version or do I have to buy the full version of the app? And is this the best way to do "home" coding on my cars or is there a simpler and cheaper way?

I use it. I tried with a generic Dongle but it had interface issues and had to buy theirs.

Fortunately for me, I was a paid member before they changed to the subscription so I have the full version for life.

Where are you located. Perhaps someone could help you out?

on this note... anyone uses bimmercode? I want to get it after getting my comfort features coded with it through a friend.

i know you have to use a very specific dongle as my normal elm cant connect to bimmercode app but does so effortlessly on the other apps (Torque pro etc..)
