Question : Would some kind of non stick coating/ on the valves not prevent the buildup, or is it not a viable option?

Dunno, we must research the okes that do the non stick pans :roflol: The port is rough surface so I cannot imagine what would solve that.

Great write up but something that comes to mind is

This is a pretty new car and has that much build up this just scares me as I'm driving an e36 m3 with 320 000km. How often does this process need to be repeated ?

Hi Muhammed,

This problem only affects direct injection cars. Your injectors if in good working condition will wash the valves on a continuous basis.

What the cost of having this done?

I've got a 2008 135i, also 50000km on the clock, but it was sent in to BMW the other day, to have the vanos solenoid replaced due to oil sludge build up...

Also, George would you advise me to use the PMB branch, or to bring the car up to you in JHB?

You can use the PMB branch if its closer. The guys doing the work there did 50 vehicles up here with us hence me granting them a agency. If I could I would have kept some staff members for up here :roflol: Drop me a pm and I can hook you up for a booking in PMB.

Mr Smooth who in Cape Town can do this?

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2

Hi,

We have not succeeded to find the right people yet in Cape Town. By the looks of things we are going to open our own shop and keep it open a week a month to service interested parties. I will keep you updated once this is established.

Thanks,

George

My 135i is still under motorplan.will this in any way affect my motorplan??

You want have motor plan issues. We assemble the car better than the way we find it from BMW especially if you have had the HPFP recall done.
Only trace left is clean valves and BMW will never argue with a customer the fact that your car should be clogged up. If they do they open up case law for a class action law suite in the states where they will have to clean all N54's for donkey's years.

Someone has taken up a agency for Cape Town and they have done the training by us. I am not sure the time frame for the shop to open as it will be a full blown establishment with dynos, servicing etc. Owner is a BMW master technician and has already had training with BMW for walnut shell blasting.
The sweet spot for the N55 is from 70,000 km and up. I would be hesitant to do your car so soon.

My engine says "Twin Power" on the plastic cover referring to the twin scroll single turbo installed!!

George, where are you guys based? Are you guys able to do the clean on a R56 Mini Cooper S and what would the cost be? It's currently on 108k mileage. I'm wanting to have a carbon clean later in the year, depending on the cost, if you guys are able to do it :)
