Carbon Doctor in Speed and Sound

I know a lot of you do not buy the Speed and Sound. This month you might want to make a exception as they have covered Carbon Doctor and done a good write up on a step by step process of what we do and the process involved in conducting a carbon clean.

George, do you think now that an article like this is freely available , that BMW will stand up and take notice? Not in the sense that they need to admit that the Direct Injection is a problem, but look for a way to cancel owners Motorplans for undertaking such work?

Dealers in a sense are not out to cancel motor plans. They have a lot to loose as in many cases cars will then be serviced at independent places. BMW head office will have a hard time making a case that their valves shouldn't be clean so the onus will be on them to admit cars have build up with no adverse affects and that my friend is pandoras box if it is opened as there are more customers than you would think with on going complaints about bad fuel consumption or erratic idles that they want fixed. The last thing they want is a media frenzy.
I am sure in a way they may be relieved that some customers are doing maintenance out of pocket with a tried and tested method which they use themselves.
BMW SA became very strict after 2009 especially with M cars. No car M goes in that isn't read and the fasta data not checked. This was due to a abnormal amount of claims of V8 M3 motors in Natal.

The article does not expose any vehicle in particular. And carbon doctor works on many non BMW cars as well. I don't see the risk for owners. It is going to require a lot of investigation by BMW to look into this...but the issue is it would be plain silly of them if they do.
