Hey guys
New to the forum. Been mostly on BFC, e30clubsa and e46fanatics. Anyways, here's my problem,
My e46 323i (99 model) is giving me grief for the last coupe of years.
Long story short, car overheated and had to get the head redone etc.
The mech who did the head couldnt get the vanos/cams alligned so it was taken to bosch and they set/alligned whatever they needed to.
After getting the car back, the car has an intermittent problem with starting. Sometimes its starts with no issues other times it just doesnt even crank. Have to disconnect the battery and leave the car for a couple of hours and then maybe it will start.
Spoke to the stealers and they say EWS module and keys need to be replaced which they want to charge me R6500 - R7000 for.
Read up on a few threads on BFC and e46fanantics with different results. Some say cam position sensor others say EWS.
I dont have any diagnostic tools but i have taken the car to bosch to run a diagnostics previously. No errors were reported back to me.
