Hi, can anyone help with the following problem. While driving my car just switches off sometimes. When i start it after it switches off, it struggles a little but starts after that. E36 1997 316i(m). Please help...

Hi Riaz07,

It could be the fuel pump, or the Relay but I am guessing here. Are there any other symptoms you may be experiencing, for example loss of power?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I notice it happens when my petrol is less than 1/4 tank. Other than that nothing else.

Broken fuel pickup

Duff transfer pump --- some BMW's have two pumps, one to get the fuel out the tank, the other to build up pressure

Just make sure its not an ignition problem, I had a similar experience with my Edirty6 325 a while ago, turns out the ignition switch was worn out............just mentioning......
