Howzit guys,

Well Chef and I discussed this a little while back, on one of the other threads, and i was thinking how about we organise a family fun day and a braai in jhb, i know the RS Club has one planned for the 1st of June at Giloolys farm in Bedford View, so what do you say guys?
Could we plan one for the Fanatics? Perhaps also at Giloolys or Zoo Lake maybe?

If I remember the guys had a meet or there was talk of a meet at zoo lake. What if we have a "mini" run to some where in the cradle of human kind and have a braai there ?

I am always game for this.
Let us then put up suggestions for areas to have it at, and then from there we decide on a date.
I think we keep this one somewhat central, get as many of us whacko's together as possible.
Giloolly's is a decent 1st option.

1. Giloollys

3. A run to Cradle of Human Kind

keep the suggestions coming guys.

All of this has been done in the past.
Cradle of human kind we already done, but instead of a braai we had breakfast.
Zoo lake was done by HerrBMW. No braai facilities at zoo lake though. It was a picnic.
What about breakfast at O'Hagans in Harties? Or even Lunch?

Golden harvest in Northgate is quite a cool venue.

The road sort of meanders through the park so we can set up and have our cars parked right by us for viewing and convenience.

There are some jungle gyms for the kids but not much else in terms of facilities, I can go check it out and post some pics of what I have in mind, but are guys open to bringing their own braais, chairs, tables and so on?

I know no alcohol is allowed in the park, but will double check all the other legalities to make sure we don't have any problems. If guys are interested in this I'll pop through and take some pics of the space I have in mind.

There's actually field and study centre as well in Sandton which does have braai facilities. Not feeling like sitting in the office this afternoon so let me take a quick field trip to both. Watch this space:=):

Distilled ftw!!! thank you bro, much appreciated.

even if it does not have braai facilities, and if we can carry our own stands, if 3 of us can get those "disposable" braai stands for like R50 each and we can use those, through out the day maybe? I will upload some pics of Gilloolys now from their website.

ok so i cant find a website for them :thumbdo:

i did this in march,4 guys pitched, and we did it at zoo lake.
it was a picnic/braai idea, and the idea was to get all the guys and there famillies together, also if the guys wanted to braai had to bring thereown as zoo lake doesnt have, thus the reason why i also sugested a picnic.

also got to remember that the guys with certain eating prefrences wont just braai on any braai(halaai, etc)thats another reason for bringing there own braais

mr_arbee was also there,so give him a shout as well:thumbs:

Ok went past field and study, that place is out, but Golden harvest I think can really work!

I was wrong there ARE braai facilities. And the sundays I've been there for my volley ball games the place is pretty dead, so it wont be crowded/ have us struggling to get nice parking and braai

You can park like my car is parked, plenty of space for all of us, or if you don't want your car sitting in the sun there are lots of shady spots around. Braai's, tables and benches in the shade, it's all there

thans Herr, i hope we get a better turn out this time, i thought about the eating preferences, so thats why i suggested 3 of those disposable braai stands. lets make it a big one gents, would be awesome to have a whole array of beamers there, even with my Reno in the mix lol
