Ok, let me start:
2007 E90 330d Sportpack
Sparkling Graphite Metallic
Current KM - 189 xxxkm
I have owned the car for just over 3 years and almost 100 000km. When i purchased the vehicle it was a plane jane with 17 inch Msport wheels, woodgrain interior trim, etc.
I have since changed the woodgrain to silver by swapping with a fellow fanatic based in CT. The 17inch Msports where replaced in the first week of ownership, in-fact i paid for the 18inch M3 wheels prior to taking delivery of the vehicle. This was the first wheel change for the E90.
I then attended the Project Shift (PSR) and Dent Doctor dyno day at WRC, where Sherwin the infamous man behind Xcede Performance was visible. Knowing Sherwin well, he came to greet and up until this moment i had no plan to mod the car, the car was only a few months in my possession and i was still happy with the power delivery. Sherwin had other plans in his mind... Anyways, long story short, the car was read and Sherwin got into his mobile lab (laptop) and adjusted and tweaked and then loaded the Xcede Performance file. We did a before run on the dyno which yielded 130wkw and 443nm. Within an hour of the stock dyno run and Sherwin's magic, she made 177wkw and 566nm.
While the M3 wheels where perfect, i had changed the rear end setup from the usual 330d setup to replicate the 335i rear end. For this, i purchased a Carbon Fibre 335i diffuser from Project Shift together with matching CF front bumper splitters. I also added the CF performance boot spoiler and matching mirror caps. I also had all the interior and exterior light bulbs to LED and HID by Jabba from Jabsport. Burgy also supplied and installed a Strut Brace for aesthetic value in the engine bay.
With the new items installed and the car up to my scratch cosmetically, i then concentrated more on the Performance side. I had Alistair and team at X-Flow (Xcede's Hardware Division), fabricate and install a custom Downpipe.
Sherwin then tweaked the file to cater for the DP and at WRC, she made a healthy 196wkw and 626nm.
The car is healthy and serviced regularly by my preferred mechanic, Tune Tech. Occasionally for oil changes she will got to BMW. In the 3 years i have owned it, only the Cranshaft Dampner pulley was replaced and i had replaced the Injectors and Glow Plugs as a preventative measure.
I had also replaced the front bumper due to a crack on the left below the headlight, while that was done i had the headlights changed to the LCI type with Angel Eyes.
The headlights, fogs and sidemarkers and wrapped in Laminx and the tail lights are painted in Cherry Red.
Thereafter, i had contacted Alistair at X-flow again as i was missing the tone of a 6cyl BMW. Together with his team, the exhaust was built and fitted to the car. This was when i had removed the dummy tailpipes and setup the fully functioning 335i exhaust setup.
The look i was trying to achieve was finished with the Red Angel eyes, this really personified the evil look i was going for. However, the JMPD did not appreciate it and was later changed back to white.
I then realised the look i achieved was beginning to show in many other E90's so i had to change it, this is when i went large and concave. X5 wheels where fitted in 19 inch. Shaheen from The Wheel Shop came to the party and what a gem of a guy, he advised and sorted everything out for me. I was really impressed with the look, it was chunky and fat but did take away some power. The X5 wheels was the best wheel for me on the E90, i regret selling them.
I was sadly rolling on 17 inch Msports once again, but this has changed again to 19inch CSL replica's which are currently on the car.
With the wheel change, i was bored with the look of the car. I got hold of Elton, my spray painter buddy and we came up with ideas to spruce up the look a little. All the CF items where removed and sent it for a lick of paint. The Boot Spoiler and front splitters painted to match the car in Sparkling Graphite metallic and the diffuser and mirror caps painted in a glossy black called Piano black.
At this point, she is going in next week for her 190 000km service and a check up. I am also looking at another wheel change as the CSL's are not my cup of tea. Also, im planning to lower the car slightly.
The car was detailed by OCD Detailing in December and maintained by washing it myself with Adams products.
I would like to thank the fanatics for the awesome support and mentoring in my cars online profile, without you, my Showroom thread would not be the longest, most viewed and replied thread in the Showroom at 90 pages, 1795 replies and 52745 views. I would also like to thank all involved in advising, supplying and installing modifications to my car. It has come a long way, many times over the years.
Over the years, i have attended a couple race days. At ODI, i managed a best of 217km/h on the 1km and a best of 14.2s on the 400m.
