Ok some points here.
1. There nothing wrong with those rims, for this year model of car, Rezax's where quite popular and still look good on the box shape and shark nosed BMWs. They are much better than those outdated turbine style rims which basically look like white-walled hubcaps. The standard rims may have been acceptable 20 years ago, but today are really too old school and past its sell by date.
2. The seats look neat and not over the top, I dont understand how one
can have a problem with the interior, when it is know that BMW interiors do not wear well over time, so this does look neatly redone .
3. The tyre profile and ride height of this car is wrong, it should be slightly higher at the front in my opinion with a thicker profile tyre up front. In the side view, it looks like the car is sitting on its rim at the front.
If the front lip is sprayed white, to match the side skirt and rear bumper, and the stripes removed, that would be one slick looking M5. In its current state it does look very clean, it's not perfect, but returning it to stock would not be a step in the right direction as the car would become too anonymous and conservative.
This is an M5 after all and deserves to have striking looks.........
Well, most people dont want to be seen driving a museum piece. Some older cars with tasteful customization can give the newer cars a go for all out appeal. Eg. a nicely customized E30, always gets my attention.
People are individuals, sometimes the talk of a vehicle's originality is tiresome. With so many BMWs on the road these days, doing some form of customization to make your car different has become very popular. If we all drove the same car original car with the same spec, motoring would be so boring and make us all look like clones.

This is why car museam's exist so we can see these things as they were not as some guy customised it, and yes there are customised sections of museams but not the whole thing
