Buzzing sound from behind dashboard

Hi

Wow, my first post. Hope I find the answers to my annoying problem.

I have a BMW 325i E90 2007 model. Every time I start the car I get a buzzing sound coming from behind the stereo. A very distinct buzzing sound which lasts for about 30 seconds. The buzzing sound is definitely not from the speakers.

I ran a 'Check control' and there are no sensor faults or warning. After running the check control, the buzzing stops for a few trips then resumes.

I searched many forums but could not find any with a similar issue. Don't know where to start. Any ideas? Problem with stereo system perhaps?
I don't think there are any mechanical or sensor issues as the vehicle recently been serviced and diagnostics did not reveal anything out the ordinary.

HELP!

Regards,
Allen

Thanks Truvalu

I will definitely consider the fan in my investigations. The thing is, this doesn't sound like the fan rubbing on dust. It is as if there is a buzzer being turned ON by the OBC and only happens a minute after starting the vehicle and not like you experience while the ignition is off as well.

When I find the solution will revert back, hopefully it is something simple like a dirty fan.

Thnx a mil for your input.

Hi Allen
Is it a buzzing sound like a clock timer kind of buzz (alarm clock buzz) Or does it sound more like the electric buzz of an electric motor?
