Buying an E46

Im new to the BMW Fanatics club. Great place...

Im looking at buying one of the following BM's, guys can you please advise me.

I will be using this car everyday and doing +/- 500km's per week.

Im looking for a car, that will give me good power, reliabilty and descent fuel consumption. I know these cars are not the best for consumption, but every bit helps.

1. 2000 E46 323I with 120'000km's FSH (Manuel)

2. 2005 E45 318I Motorsport 190'000km's FSH (Automatic)

Both cars are priced the same and in exceptional condition.

323i. Had one for 6 years and it was an absolute pleasure and the 2.5 liter 6 cylinder was a beaut of an engine.

You won't be sorry.

Take the manual. It will probably be lighter on fuel than the 318 auto.

Take the E46 323i....mine is auto (Your manual will be better)

I took a pic this week on the freeway

at 120km\h rev counter at 2600rpm... Consumption at 6.8l\100

They love the open road

Don't forget to inspect for sub-frame cracks on the 323i.

I would stay well away from the 318i, it wasn't BMW's finest hour.
