business cd player

Just purchased a 2005 320i individual - first BMW.
Need some help and info
Not happy with the business cd player -is there any way i can upgrade to a better sound system without affecting the face of the player? -
How much better is the Harmon Kardon system and can i maybe change to this?
Are these available second hand and where?

Harmon Kardon in the E46 is ok. I would say the standard sound in my E91 touring was better. When you push it it just sounds like its stressed all the time with most types of music.

Don't waste your money, you could achieve much better results and keep the OEM look without going to HK.

For what it's worth I have HK Logic 7 in my Discovery and it is fantastic...not earth shattering but still bloody good !

I upgraded my sound in my E36 M3 4door to JBL GTO series and there was a huge improvement.

Where ever possible try and keep the factory enclosures and covers to keep installation stealth.

i got a quote down here in CPT for full Rockford Fosgate system. Includes door speaker, speakers in back, 12"/15"sub, box, amp and hole in ski trap and to keep the OEM headunit for around R6000. I think thats pretty decent.
