burnt head gasket

Hi Guys

I just got news formmy mechanic that the gasket is gone on my e46 320i

I was wondering if any of you can help with advice as in
1. rebuild angine
2. buy a second hand engine and replace it

I just don't know where to get one

can you help?

All depends on the amount of damage caused will determine if a build/recon/repair or engine to be replaced. Also the cost IMO. Where u based?

if its just the gasket why the need to rebuild or replace ?

Welcome to the fanatics forum .
From your post it seems you are technically challenged and your mechanic is mentally challenged .
My advice is get another mechanic .
Normally a head gasket blows and a car overheats . The amount of damage will determine what has to be fixed .
If you rode the car till it stopped you may have terminal damage with replacement or engineering work needing to be done . Your mechanic should see this if he stripped the head off , then he can advise youu what to do .
You could have your car taken to Gizmo here on the forum . You can phone Warren on 0832540344 .

I Agree, you have to know the extent of the damages before making the decision of repairing VS replacing
