Guys help me out here but I think the veyron with EC plates was brought in for the topgear show. Firstly its left hand drive and it has dealership or temporary plates on... Also on the mag the sticker on the window says government approved road test vehicle. The only one for sale is at backdraft for sale along with a slr mclaren... Problem is you can buy it but cant drive it in our roads.

I think with this car it was more a case of function over form. IMO it is an absolutely amazing awesome feat of engineering:inlove:

Well, apparently they make no profit when they sell these cars, a loss more likely, or so it goes - strange and hardly makes sense, but was a feat of engineering to prove a point more than anything else!

And you can drive a left hand drive car as long as all the papers are in order.

If I had the money and the want, I'd own 1. Along with a few others.

You must be misinformed.

You are allowed to import LHD subject to a number of things. One of them a letter of authority from the SABS. You are just not allowed to register for road use.

LHD classic or any other LHD car, can only be registered if it was on existing SA papers BEFORE 1 January 2000.
