Saw some cars piling into Kaylami on Saturday, also saw a black 1M but not yours though.
Looking forward to your updates :praise:
I thought you removed the RBs?

Yes the RB's are off at this point but intended to get fitted back in the coming weeks

Update

Car goes in today for new pads / braided brakes lines and some better brake fluid. The KW coilovers have arrived, but will only be fitted next week.

Just a thought about new pads.
It is normally good practice that pads are run in for roughly 200Kms prior to any hard braking.
Not teaching you how to suck eggs just mentioning it for the benefit of those that may not know

Stunning Car!

Track driving/Racing is very addictive. Ever since I started doing it...I dont even visit the drag strip anymore...

Honestly...it takes much more to drive a circuit fast than to drive 400m.

Good Luck!

are you going to have you suspension setup corner weighted?

I would highly recommend Mr Hurley himself at CRS to setup your suspension

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't reached that point yet to be honest. This is a learning process for me and hoping to understand the technical aspects as I go along. It feels like I need to learn what each change is doing to the car, how its reacting etc also need to improve on the driving skills.

Time Trail Review – 28/06
Track – Swartkops
BMW Car Club

Let’s start with build up for the event at the beginning of the week. I actually completely forget that the event was this coming weekend and though it was the following weekend. Long story short, I realised on Wednesday and needed to get a few key items done. 1. Register for the event 2. Get an MSA License 3. Get new Pads 4. Brake Fluid 5. New brake lines 6.

Registration for the event was rather easy and simple, all done online and that’s that. The MSA license on the other hand become a bit tricky, managed to register On Thursday but then realised that my BMW Car Club membership had expired and it is compulsory to provide MSA a valid club membership letter of some sort. So I got hold of Michael Broom from the BMW club and he agreed to help me out, within an hour of paying, Ryan Herd got hold of me asking for the details of the wife as I had taken a family membership, so many thanks to Michael and Mrs and Mr Herd for the quick turn around.

Managed to get the MSA piece and was issued a temp license with the full membership license expected next week. Cue to Friday night, got the brakes sorted and drove around JHB for a 160Km odd KM to try get some bedding in done. Got home and 10:00ish and then was asked to help a family member that was involved in an accident, nothing to seriously but the process was painful. Got to bed around 02:00 and needed to be up at 05:00 to try get to the track at 06:15 or similar.

Only woke at 06:00, realised I stilled need to fuel up etc, on my way to the track, I noticed that I had forgotten my helmet, fcuk – U turn and back home. Eventually got to track about 07:30 just enough time to register, and get the car checked in etc.

Given that i was my 2nd proper track day, I was put into the session 3 (beginners / limited track time)...Really didn’t care, just wanted to get out onto the track. Managed to get about an 1 hour worth of track time and felt that I was improving in every session, didn’t check the times though and will do later this week. Also saw Ed-Z and a few other familiar faces but with so much going on I didn’t get time to chat to them. I then was told of yet another incident at home, and this time involving my daughter so I left immediately and finished off at the track around 12:00. All in all, a great day, some good lessons learnt and daughter is OK. Brake disks are farked .

Planning on a few mod improvements in the coming weeks so stay tuned.

RB's are just about sold, and will be replaced with something a little more spicy. May take sometime to land, but will keep the thread updated.

Sorry, but a compliment just doesn't do this car any justice, it is THAT epic:rollsmile:
