I've been reading some of the threads with interest,and noticed that the same people "shoot-down" members who ask for advice-Theres a rule that comes to mind - "When in doubt, it's better to remain silent and be thought stupid- Than to speak and remove all doubt" :rollsmile:

Prego...that is a very generalised statement. Members are generally very helpful on the forum. If you have noticed consistent negative feedback, then you can always press the report button or rate the member so that such behaviour is brought to the attention of mods.

no one knows everything and asking questions is the best way to learn...

I think people are generally quite helpful with noobies. However, there have been a few noobs with "blunt" attitudes and I've think they'be been given some very direct responses in light with what they've asked for.

If you can mention some particular threads and users to the mods we will certainly look into it.

I for one want this forum to be usefull to all members, new and old, but in some way I agree that perceived as silly questions are often responded to in not the most forgiving manner and that is just part of the character of Fanatics.

But PM us, try it and you will see legit issues will always be dealt with very fairly.

well im still learning about bmw as a whole,and feel if ive asked a stupid question,that some where some one will give me a right answer,even if i do get funny comments.

best is just to ignore it or take it with a pinch of salt.and yes ive also given a couple of sarcastic answers,but have also been put right.

IMHO a question is asked and the answers given are based on the info given ,I dont think guys are actively giving shyte answers .
If you ask for help then sieve the answers and decide to use the answers or not , there is no obligation to use it .
I got shyte answers to two questions I asked , maybe the guys just had a bad day .

Truth be told, we do have some poeple who rather be referred to as poopholes, but then again, its in the fun. and some threads go south because people type faster than their brains and emotions assist, but not alot at all, honestly!

we have good guys here and some bad apples as like any other forum:thumbs:

It seems the "not nice" people on the forum are getting worse as the noobs are getting more and more whiney.

I just realized that I don't know what the definition of a noob is. Is it based on being new to the BMW world, or solely based on how many posts you have made.

OK, I guess I know the answer to that one, and this probably explains why if I try and help someone with a technical problem, even though I'm a fucking engineer with over 30 years of experience in stuff that makes rocket science look like scrabble, I'll get some serious dude kakking all over me, because he has "more posts".

Oh, well we'll live and learn.

dont know what you on about scrabble is hard man...

unfortunately people dont know you on the forum and so dont really know how much you know so there will be some that doubt what you say if they think it is wrong... the more time you spend here the better people will know you and if you constantly give good advice they will know they can trust what you say...
