I think there is a traffic link of News24 that has quite detailed traffic information.I'll double check it and see.

Johnny, I would guess it would be the R44 just before the R43 intersection (big T-Junction by the looks of things on Google Maps).

I reckon the gathering point in Hermanus should maybe be in or around the Old Harbour Museum?

Then I guess theres still roadworks

"R44 Kleinmond.
Roadworks Stop/Go controls
Severity: Level 5
Stop/Go controls at multiple locations between the R43 at Kleinmond and Rooi Els (via Betty's Bay) expect delays"

I think this is the one we're talking about

I still have to confirm if I am going to be able to go with (really hoping I can), but for the route, what about simply meeting ar N1 City (as normal), then along the N1, R300, N2, then Sir Lowry's Pass, Grabouw, Hermanus turn-off etc? Of course through Gordon's Bay, Betty's Bay etc is also awesome.

Imran, where was this road works? Trying to figure out where you are talking about just opposite Fisherhaven before Hawston?

For Chapman's Peak, maybe another breakfast run since that is an awesome run all on its own!

That's Betty's bay

So if going via hang klip we will hit it . If via sir lowrys we will miss it :)

The Sir Lowry's route is most certainly a nice option (why I suggested), nice winding roads there, but one thing to consider is that there are lots of commercial vehicles along that route, but maybe a bit less over weekends...

Guys, look out for speed traps along the route you are planning. Stick to the speed limit espescially around Kromco and over Houwhoek pass and when coming down the pass. Also between Fisherhaven and Hermanus there are different speed limits in place so please stay cool! Enjoy the trip! Might see you when you go back as i hope to visit with my kids in D/ville area and should be returning about 5 in the afternoon.

Then lets go from N1 City, along the R300 on to the N2. We can regroup at the Shell petrol station at the bottom of Sir Lowry's Pass, and then take it from there regarding the next phase of the route.
Guys, you've got to understand,I am trying to take a route that you can all keep up with me :roflol::roflol::roflol:

Hahaha! Just kidding!! So let's regroup at the Shell and we can make a call? Hell, there might be guys willing to take the scenic route and be prepared to sit at the Stop and Go, and some that would rather not. Either way,the end point is Hermanus,so I will leave options up to the group as a whole.

Happy Friday!:joy:

That is a good call.
Hermanus is the destination and offers scenery and beauty. So the easiest route is preferable.
