The thing is the "sensors" aren't manufactured by bmw, that is why other places sell them as well.

I use to buy all my spares from goldwagen, if I can find it there I buy it. I have never had issues. As leonard said the sensor is just "wire" that gets "cut" when it touches the rotors. Nothing special.

I called around to get prices on the rear brake pads and I'm told there are 2 different lengths available. The one is 123mm and the other is 95/96mm.

Can anyone tell me which the correct one for my vehicle is?

I have a 2006 320i Touring (E91) Petrol.

Oh my word, I took my car yesterday to ex-bmw mechanic to replace my brake pads.
The man did a very good job. He put Meyle brake pads together with a new sensor. I then reset the service interval using the odometer button. Now the CBS says my next pads service will be after 43000 km.
I paid the guy only R740 while BMW wanted R2200. I saved R1460 which the stealer would have spent on some .... Watch out for stealers.

Where are you? I want to get a quote on my X1 for front pads and sensor. Contact number of the ex-BMW mechanic please?
