Agents if you don't want them squeaky.
None of my brakes squeek and I have ATE, ferodo (won't use again too much brskr dust) and textar between my cars. Perhaps who ever is installing yours or has installed yours didn't do the job properly.

:withStu: or they weren't bed in properly

I can assure that it hasn't nothing to with the installer, as per this thread http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=62935, I was a huge fan of ATE, had no issue with the two sets that I did on my previous 318i. But this last set was okay to begin with but got crap over time.

I suspect that the quality of them has deteriorated over time unfortunately. I really hoped this not be the case as yesterday I shelled out close to R8000 for a set of OE disks and pads all round !

But in line with this upgrade http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=64123 - I wasn't going to risk it yet again.

Thanks guys for all the feedback. I think I will shop around between the textar/ate/ferod.

btw, Any good suppliers in Sandton/Lenz open today

I have always trusted Ferodo and ATE on all my Toyotas so I know what you are talking about. Thanks for the pricing. It always helps when shopping around.

On the flip side and here I am being lazy, Is there a way the computer can tell me which pads are gone, front or rear. The tell tale light came on a few days ago and the manual indicates brake pads.

IS Motorsport and Midas might be open today. Unfortunately not, visually inspecting them is the only way to tell, but I would suspect the front ones because on all cars they wear faster, but my advice is to do a complete job instead of half of it and replace both back and front pads. This is one of the core safety items on a car, so why take shortcuts?

the pads have a wear sensor on them... try and avoid getting them that low, or you gonna have to replace sensor as well... that's an extra 100~120 bucks

:sorry:

The light comes on and off for a few days. So I dont think that it is properly worn and also it is just the warning light still (orange) not red.

Sounds like you were either supplied with the wrong but similat part or received a bad batch.
