Brake Pad warning light - update

Hi

So last night the brake pad warning light came on, on my moms BMW.

I must say that I am not very impressed with BMW, why do they not check these things when the car goes for services. The car was serviced 3000km ago.

How many km's can she drive as we will only be able to get the car to BMW by Wednesday.

Will BMW replace discs and pads at the same time, as the discs feels a bit rough.

Thanks

Normally its about 1000km after the light comes on.

Discs will be replaced if they are hitting minimum thickness.

If its under motorplan. When it goes in say you noticed a slight vibration when using brakes. Then they might replace disks as well.

Thanks for the replies. I will ask them to check the discs as well, as the discs feels a bit grooved.

Hope they can do it while I wait.

Hi

So I took the car to Forsdicks BMW today to have the brakes checked. They replaced all the discs and pads and also replaced the brake sensors. They also flushed the brake fluid as I complained, because they have not done it on the previous service when it was due.

Overall reasonably happy with their work.

I sincerely hope I will get the same level of service from my aftermarket service plan, lol! You have me stressing a bit now
